Yay for awesome sidekicks!Īnyhow, this was a dignified end to an amazing series and I can't wait to find out what more Karen Lynch has in store for us. I'm also happy to say that there's quite a lot of 'Dimples' aka Chris action in this book, just as I hoped it would. While there were lots of exciting new scenes and untold revelations, what I loved most was to experience Nikolas' relationship with Sara from his perspective, which also explained so much about his actions and behavior towards her.

Warrior retells the entire Relentless series from Nikolas' POV and it was great to get some insight into that mysterious mind of his. I'm still ridiculously enamored with him.

I'm glad to say that didn't happen at all. I was afraid this book might end up bursting my little Nikolas-infatuated bubble I've built over the past few years. This was actually my most anticipated read this year, but also the one I was most wary of. *sigh* How am I going to live without you, now that this series is over? It would have been better (imo) if she had done the alternating chapter thing unless, of course, Warrior was an afterthought, which is kind of what it felt like to me. The author attempted to recount a parallel story in half that time. The first 3 books were each approximately 13 hours long. So, it's not that the story from Nikolas' POV was bad, it just felt forced. Oh, and every time she's out of his sight, something happens and he berates himself and promises to never let it happen again. Nikolas becomes obsessed with Sara, but says nothing to her and doesn't even act like he likes her.

This 20+ hour story could be summed up like this:Īt a chance encounter, Nikolas is surprised to feel the bond between him and Sara. Nikolas said the same things over and over and over and over. Those two reasons aside, it still wasn't great. This book is definitely not a standalone and it was difficult to follow because I didn't remember all the details from the first 3 books. I don't know why I didn't read Warrior at that time. (2) I read the first 3 books (Relentless, Refuge and Rogue) a couple of years ago and I really liked them.

You know how on cop shows they have the suspect in an interrogation room and they put a pad of paper and a pen in front of him and they tell him to write down everything that happened? And then later on someone reads the guy's account out loud? It was with that same level of passion that this story was told.
